New build house and flats

Whether building a 3 bedroom end of terraced house or a 10,000 sq ft 5 bedroom executive home SMI’s ethos is the same – exceptional design and build, high quality standards of work and excellent value for money. We undertake new build work on our own projects and for others – all works are signed off by building control and upon completion have 10 year new build insurance warranty which is required by many mortgage lenders.

Refurbishment and extensions

SMI Construction undertakes a full spectrum of refurbishment and conversion works from large loft conversions, single and double storey rear and side extensions, fitting bathrooms & kitchens to creating orangeries and landscaping entire gardens. We have an excellent reputation for refurbishment projects and are proud of the high quality finish. We will work with you and your architect/surveyor to make your dream plans for your home a reality.

Building maintenance

We undertake repair works for a number of freehold management companies and chartered surveyor managing agents. We can provide emergency response repairs, general maintenance and cyclical major work repairs to managed residential properties.

Insurance based work

We are able to quote for and undertake all aspects of insurance based residential property repairs. We have undertaken work for several main insurance companies.

Painting and decorating

With professional painters and decorators we are able to update and transform your home with our decorating services whether that is as part of a whole property refurbishment or as a separate painting and decorating project.  SMI decorators will treat your home like their own and will go the extra mile to meet your needs and requirements.  With thorough preparation, our attention to detail and a high-quality finish we will ensure you are delighted with the fresh and updated look of your home

Planning

All councils have similar planning and building control requirements. It is important that your project complies with both planning and building control conditions. We are fully conversant with the latest building control requirements and will ensure your project is fully signed off by your local authority or private building control inspector. 

Whilst we are happy to assist at the planning stage we always recommend that you seek advice as required from professionals such as a structural engineer, party wall award surveyor, planning or rights of light specialist.  We work with a team of specialists and are happy to recommend if required.
